Joe Yorkoski Memory
I have many fond memories of Billy. I’d like to share two of them. Bill was avid golfer and he would play anybody, anywhere, any time for $0.25 per hole. He was very competitive and rarely lost. If he had to make a 10 foot putt to win the hole, guaranteed it went in. He had several groups of players who lost to him regularly. One day he showed up at the golf course with a shiny red golf cart. On it was printed this. “ This cart was paid for one quarter at a time. Thank you all”. Another memory. I had been a widower for several years. One of our golfers said that they had a lovely woman who lived downstairs and was lonely too, and would I want an introduction. Well sure. Time goes by and nothing. So I ask Dennis what happened. He said she’s met someone else. Sometime later, there I was standing at the altar as Billy’s best man when he married Celeste.
