Virginia Briden McGunagle's Obituary
Virginia Briden McGunagle, 101, of Miami, passed
away on December 20, 2024 due to complications
from a stroke. She was born in Janesville, Iowa to
Mother Mabel Daniels Briden and Father Harrison
Horseman Briden. She moved to Miami at the age of
16 after the death of her father. In 1951 she married
the late Joseph Alfred McGunagle and had three
children.
Virginia had a passion for dancing and loved going to
the Moose Club on Friday and Saturday nights. She
also had compassion for homeless animals and could
be seen around Miami feeding birds, cats and other
animals.
Virginia is survived by her three children: Robin (Bill)
Cauthen of Leesburg, Florida; Mike (Carol) McGunagle
of Homestead, Florida; and Janis Morris of Miami.
She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Ginny
Cauthen Thompson, Mandy Cauthen (Knox Burns),
Holly Cauthen, Joe McGunagle, Taylor Morris, Christy
McGunagle and great grandchildren Cinco -John Knox
Burns V and Mabel Burns. We must not forget her
loyal dog, Sophie, who never left her side and Kitty
Cat.
The family will hold a private celebration of life at a
later date.
The family of Virginia would like to extend a special
thank you to the staff at Vitas Hospice for the
compassionate and attentive care given at the end of
her life. We will forever be grateful.
