If my memory and timing are accurate, my first introduction to Grandmother Ginny was in the 1985-86 timeframe. Robin had resigned from IBM when expecting her second child, Mandy. I back-filled Robin’s position relocating from Birmingham and was living in a new condo. G’ma Ginny and Robin visited with Mandy as a baby. I had the horrors as the two of them changed Mandy’s diaper on my new carpet. It was also the time frame Robin admired my collection of M A Hadley pottery and decided to begin that pattern for Mandy. Who knew when in college Mandy would adopt Melvin; one of the original animals from the Hadley farm pattern collection. Decades later I introduced myself again to G’ma Ginny at Mandy and Knox’ wedding in Leesburg. She would have been 90ish at the time and searching for a good dancer to be her partner on the dance floor. What a tribute to her long and active life to have been dancing just days shy of turning 102. My thoughts to Robin and her entire family as I know they celebrate the incredible life of G’ma Ginny.
