I dont know how long is been with out him here...but it looks like you are still around , in fact i been saving all the antiques and special pieces he used to buy at the yard sales.. eventhough I was re building myself I was able to accomplish one of his dreams which it was a hostel and that keeps that wonderful human steven around. Here I am adding a picture of Terracotta San Agustin in Colombia Huila state. I hope his sister Kate will be able to see this pots and talk to her in honor of his memory.. lots of love my dear friend your presence will be always around helping thousands of travellers who come and enjoy you spirit around. Steve was an amazing and kind person! The one who makes you feel good and cheer you up every day no matter what.
I worked with him at the Front Desk in 2009 - 2010. Steve was the person who was always happy, woke up early and was really passionate for what he was doing. People loved him! He was always nice to me, still remember how kind he was when I came for an interview looking for job. He never told me but I am sure I was hired because of him.
Even later when I left The Grand Venetian he visited me in the hotel I was working at and gave me a ride one day when I was waiting for a bus. That was the last time I saw him..

Really sad to learn Steve is no longer with us! Thank you for everything!! Miss your texts!..

From the moment I met Steve upon moving to Miami from New York two years ago, I realized I met a very special person and a very special friend. Although I did not know Steve long we had a very special connection. He was amazing to talk to and I could speak to him just about anything. Steve always gave me the greatest and wisest advice when I would spill my heart out. He was a great listener and was one of the few people that I met that really "got me". Steve was a kind, compassionate and gentle soul and super cool too. He also had a great artistic and design sense and we had great fun together along with my brother finding treasures at estate and yard sales. I will truly miss him. The neighborhood is not the same without him. We are so blessed to have had Steve in our lives.

Steve was such a kind and wonderful person giving the building such a welcome atmosphere. He passed while I was on vacation and coming back home today, there was a certain emptiness when I walked in the building. He will be greatly missed!

Ever since I moved into the Grand Venetian in 2012, Steve has been my friend and guide. I was shocked to learn of his illness when I returned recently after a summer up north and his passing is ineffably sad. He was the soul of the Grand Venetian! I shall miss him dreadfully.

His kindness to the residents of The Grand Venetian went beyond the requirements of his job. While always respectful, he had a friendly greeting and smile for everyone, and was always quick to offer assistance whenever possible. If Steve said, "I'll take care of it" then you could consider it done. Along with Stevonnie, it was clear that he was a big part of making The Grand Venetian a well run and welcoming home to the many people who live here. He will be greatly missed. Goodbye Steve.

I have just returned back to Miami after being abroad for 5 months and am saddened to hear this news. Steve was so kind and will be greatly missed here at the The Grand Venetian. I would always give him my orchids after the flowers came off so he could put them in his garden and bring them back. He would always boast how they were all blooming again. My condolances are with you and the family at this time. Sending love and peace.
