It is with great sadness that the family of Dr. Siddharth Singh Bass of Miami, FL, announces his passing on Saturday, April 4, 2020, at the age of 56.
Sid will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 24 years, Karen Manas Bass, and his two adoring children, Sasha and Milan Bass of Miami FL, his parents, Dr. Raghu Raj and Sheila Chandel Singh of Burr Ridge, IL, his two sisters, Dr. Sapna Singh Rathi (Sanjeev Rathi) of Oak Brook, IL and Dr. Swati Singh Bansal (Dr. Jay Bansal) of Healdsburg, CA, mother-in-law Marianne E. Manas of Chicago IL, brother-in-law Frank C. Manas (Julie Stark Manas) of Indianapolis, IN and one niece and five nephews. He is preceded in death by Frank Anthony Manas of Chicago, IL.
Sid was born on May 22, 1963 in Karchana, U.P., India and immigrated with his family to the United States when he was nine years old. He was a mischievous and inquisitive child who developed into a brilliant student. Sid was a graduate of the University of Chicago and Rush Medical College and received his surgical training at the University of South Florida. Dr. Bass subsequently completed Fellowships in Craniofacial surgery at Miami Children’s Hospital and Cleft Palate surgery at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Bass has been nationally recognized for his research contributions and has authored numerous articles and book chapters. He was a preeminent cosmetic surgeon in Miami where his compassion, dedication, and surgical skills changed the lives of his patients who came from all over the country.
Sid was a very kind, generous, passionate, and spontaneous person. He had a love for fast cars that he certainly enjoyed, cooking (his iconic pesto pasta), music (he always had a current personalized playlist), movies of all genres (from Airplane to the Matrix and Ironman), and golf. He was also an avid reader and one of the few people who still checked out books as well as audiobooks from the library weekly. He had already read the entire Game of Thrones books before the series even premiered. Sid had a love for animals including his German Shepherd Arya, Golden Retriever Leo, and his two rescue Tabby cats Jackie and Jack.
Sid was an original and graced us with his charm and love of life. His greatest loves were his wife and his two children who were his shining lights. He will be forever missed but always in our hearts.
Funeral services were held on April 8, 2020 at Van Orsdel Funeral Chapel, 3333 NE 2nd Ave. Miami, FL.
