Sid was the leader of our group of guys just out of college and into med school. Everyone kinda looked up to him. He had the fancy car and clothes and the girls (his greatest one, of course, his wife Karen). Too many memories to begin to chronicle. Let's just say we all spent a ton of time together as a gang (not all included in the photo): Stu, Falmo, Joel, Mus, Scottie, Frank, Yuri, Chuck, Johnny, and a bunch of other great people that hung out with us. The house on Fletcher with hot tubs before hitting the clubs, especially our VIP treatment at Cairo. The memories are endless. Since learning of Sid's passing, I've been playing Thomas Dolby radio on Spotify, which captures a lot of the music Sid turned us on to - 80's New Wave. Sid was also a very good athlete. Threw the football with a heavy tight spiral. In fact, playing catch in front of our apartment building, I cut my groin pretty bad, but being in med school at the time, Sid took me into the apartment and stitched me right up. We all played a lot of golf, and Sid usually won.
And, for Karen, I haven't forgotten that it was you who bailed me out of jail the night I got sucker punched by the off duty cop and moonlighting bouncer at Cairo. Thank you, once again, and I hope I paid you back.
To Karen and the Bass kids and to the entire Bass family, my deepest sympathy for your loss. I send you comforting thoughts, prayers and the best future life can offer you.
