Sharon B. Alvarez's Obituary
In loving memory
of Sharon B. Alvarez
March 22, 1949 - July 8, 2024
Sharon Alvarez (75) born Sharon Bernice Spague in Chicago Illinois on March 22, 1949 passed away peacefully in her home in Miami, Florida June 8th, 2024 surrounded by her husband and best friend of 38 years Daniel Alvarez, daughter Tammy Epling and her granddaughter Sharyn Epling.
Sharon lived a life of wonderful possibilities marrying the love of her life Daniel at Bill Baggs State Park Lighthouse, this was one of the happiest moments of her life. Their love was boundless, a perfect circle with no beginning and no end. A love that will live forever until they meet again.
Her accomplishments were many from being a cosmetologist as a young woman to working her way into the medical field and becoming the first female orthopedic tech at Baptist Hospital. From there she worked in the private sector at Miami Orthopedic and Sport Medicine until she retired.
Sharon faced her fears straight on and because of that attitude she was able to become a certified diver, she climbed out to remote waterfalls in Hawaii, traveled long journeys to France and England, and many other countries. “You have to try new things or you will never know “ was her motto from food to life experiences.
Sharon was blessed with her granddaughter Sharyn in 2004. She would always say being a parent was a wonderful gift but being a grandparent is so very special!
For anyone who knew Sharon, they knew her for her laughter, her boundless love, famous hugs and her bigger-than-life smile.
Sharon is survived by her husband Daniel Alvarez, daughter Tammy Epling, Granddaughter Sharyn Epling, her sister's Roberta Lawson, Susan Negron, Mona Eason, and Ana Gonzalez with numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in heaven by her mother Marjorie Tharp, sisters Terry Tharp, Jeannie Tutton, Eve Eddings, mother-in law Dorthy Alvarez and father-in law Ricardo Alvarez.
Sharon once said “A life well lived is a life worth Celebrating”. She could not have said it Better.
The family asks that a lieu of flowers donations be made to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital in her honor as this was close to her heart. The Family will be hosting a private celebration of life that will be held at a later date.
We will always love you Sharon until we meet again, your loving family.
