Dear Family Part 2,
Because Jesus Christ died for us, we are all left with a decision to be made.
Do we accept the gift that God has given us? or do we reject it?
God loves us so much that he allows us to make our own choices. He never forces anyone to trust in Him or in His Son Jesus Christ.
4. What do we do if we want to accept God's gift.
The Bible tells us:
Romans 10:13 - "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Romans 10:9-11 - "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed."
So each individual must decide to take a step of faith in realizing that they are sinners who are destined to hell and that without God's gift of eternal life we would have no hope. This is a faith decision that we must trust in.
We make hundreds of faith decisions daily we just don't recognize them as faith decision but rather than our daily routines of life.
For example, when we go to bed, we trust that the bed is going to hold us up, we don't second guess ourselves when we climb into the bed. We just do it.
We must put the same kind of faith and trust into accepting God's gift of eternal life.
Hebrews 11:6 - "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."
So we must pray and ask God to save us.
Sample prayer:
Dear Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner. If I were to die today in my sin, I would be on my way to hell. I am putting my faith and trust in you today as my personal saviour to take me to heaven when I die. Please forgive me of my sins. I put my faith in the shedding of the blood of your son, Jesus Christ. Thank you for loving me and giving me the gift of eternal life. In Jesus name, amen.
My main desire is that each of my loved ones will choose to accept this gift as I once did when I was 12 years old. I love each and every one of you and I will continue to pray for you as we continue our grieving journey.
Love you with all of my heart,
Mona
