Samuel "Clay" Reiner, II's Obituary
Samuel “Clay” Reiner, 65 years old, a loving husband and father, returned to God on December 27, 2022 after a several-year battle with cancer. Clay was born to Samuel Theodore Reiner and Anne Elizabeth Reiner on January 16, 1957 in Washington D.C. As a Boy Scout who later rose to the rank of Eagle Scout, Clay spent his early years camping and “roughing it” in the great outdoors with his brothers. While in college, Clay spent a couple years in the early 80’s running a valet parking business for various nightclubs in Dallas, Texas – that short-lived but illustrious enterprise generated decades of humorous stories.
Clay was a graduate of the University of Miami School of Law, a Mensa member, and a founding partner of Reiner & Reiner, P.A. with his brother, David. Together they helped and served many across South Florida and beyond. Over the course of a 37 year legal career, Clay became well-known for his charisma, work ethic, and dedication to his clients.
Clay’s quick wit, personality, and depth of knowledge set him apart. Clay had a special way of making people feel understood and appreciated. That feeling, and his laughter, will be sorely missed. And even while his body was affected by sickness, his spirit was never shaken. The Lord protected him and gave him the strength to reassure those closest to him.
Clay is survived by his wife, Hilda Reiner, his father, Samuel Theodore Reiner, his two sons, Eric Reiner and Mark Reiner, his daughter in law, Rebekah Reiner, and his three brothers: David Reiner, Theodore Reiner, and Geoffrey Reiner. He always believed that his greatest accomplishment was that Hilda loved him.
We thank the Lord that he is no longer in pain and is reunited with loved ones in Heaven.
