Roberto Jesus Rodriguez's Obituary
Roberto Jesus Rodriguez, known affectionately to his friends and family as Bob, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in the arms of his children and wife. He was 84 years old.
Born in Cárdenas, Cuba, Bob was the cherished son of Ramon Rodriguez and Elena Maria Triana Calvet. He was a proud graduate of Colegio Irene Toland.
In 1961, Bob began his life in the United States, bringing with him an unmatched sense of humor and an unwavering courage that defined his life. He was a true "man's man" and a gentleman, a protector to those he loved, and a person who was genuinely not scared of anything. He built a successful career as a Commercial Fisherman, a vocation that perfectly suited his rugged spirit and love for the water.
Bob’s greatest devotion, however, was his family. He was the devoted husband of Mirtha Rodriguez, with whom he shared 50 beautiful years of marriage. He idolized his family and was known for his extremely generous nature, always offering help and friendship to anyone in need.
Outside of his work, Bob found joy in the outdoors. He was passionate about fishing, gardening, and hunting, and he had a deep appreciation for classical music. To his children, he was more than a father—he was a hero.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Ramon Rodriguez; his mother, Elena Maria Triana Calvet; his brother, Ramon Rodriguez; and his brother, Rafael Rodriguez.
He leaves behind a strong and loving legacy, survived by his beloved wife, Mirtha; his children, Michelle (Miguel), Roberto (Berenice), and Ramon (Elizabeth); his loving cousin, Teresita; his grandchildren, Leana, Michael, Tristan, Izabella, Mila, Maximo, Amber Lee, Aiden, Ayvah, and Layla; his nieces, Catherine, Victoria, and Maricel; and his great-nieces and nephews, Sophia, Scarlett, Nathaniel, and Donovan.
Bob's strength, loyalty, and fierce spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
