Robert “Brooks”, Jr., 63, of Key West, FL passed away September 3, 2011. He was born in New Rochelle, NY, and raised in Larchmont, NY and Coral Gables, FL. Brooks was the son of Mary and Robert B. White. He attended Duke University and earned a BA from St. Leo’s with a major in accounting. Brooks was an active member of the Key West community. He worked as a political consultant and owned and operated the National Campaign Supply Corp. Brooks helped to create the Key West AIDS Memorial. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his friends and family. Brooks is predeceased by his sister Meme and his mother Mary White. He is survived by his father Robert B. White of Coral Gables and his sister Marti and her husband Jim Hutchison of Wilmington, DE, two nieces, Robin King and family of Durham, NC, and Lisa Hutchison of Providence, RI, nephew Jay Hutchison of Coral Gables, and Brooks’ good friend Larry Spears of Key West. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in his name to the charity of your choice. Funeral Service 11 AM Monday in the chapel of the First United Methodist Church of Coral Gables. Burial following the service will be private.
