PEARL LOUISE DAYE's Obituary
Pearl Louise Daye, 88, of Miami Lakes, FL, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 surrounded by her family.
Pearl was born on December 14, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio to Frank and Lillian Nowland. She grew up in America's heartland during the Great Depression and she brought the lessons of that time and her parents with her throughout her life. Lessons of generosity and of kindness. These were the lessons she taught her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren by both word and deed. Her house was always open to friend or family. Rarely was the house empty or quiet. Always, it was filled with love and laughter.
Pearl is survived by her husband of 54 years, Philip Daye; her brother, Frank Nowland; her children: Lynn Tarte and her husband Andrew Tarte, Deborah Hendry and her husband Robert Hendry, Philip Daye, Jr and his wife Shirley Daye, Alexander Daye and his wife Christine Daye; her grandchildren: Robert Hendry, Jr. and his wife Althea Hendry, Erica Driver and her husband Rick Driver, Dawn Sneed and her husband Robert Sneed, Tina Cornejo and her husband Manuel Cornejo, Holly Pereira and her husband Nio Pereira, Simon Daye, and Zachary Daye; and her great-grandchildren: Robert Pereira, Manuel Cornejo, Jr. Sarah Cornejo, Marcus Cornejo, Melanie Rojas, Lexus Pereira, Byron Sneed, Madison Hendry, McKenna Hendry, Elias Sneed, and Nicholas Hernandez.
A memorial service will be held this Friday, June 5, 2015, 6:30pm - 8:00pm at New Hope Community Church, 6400 NW 31st Avenue , Ft. Lauderdale, FL. 33309.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you continue Pearl's generosity and her fight against cancer by giving a donation to the American Cancer Society.
