Dear Friends and Family,
LEGENDS LIVE FOREVER
☠️🙌🤙🍻😎🎨🌊🎣✌️❤️☠️
I am writing to share the news of the passing of Mike "The Pirate" Stasko. 🤙☠️🎨🙌
As Mike always said, "Pirates never die," and his spirit will live on through everyone who knew him. We will continue to cherish the wisdom, humor, humility, and kindness he brought into our lives.
💪☠️🙌🤙✨️
Mike was one of my closest friends. We shared decades of memories together, beginning with our fishing tournaments in the Bahamas; his artwork is still proudly on display at the Big Game Club in Bimini. I also want to extend a special thanks to Monty Lopez for connecting us many years ago. The greatest compliment Mike ever gave me was calling me a "Baby Pirate."🤣🤣🤣
"The Pirate" was a true legend in the marine art world. He helped launch the careers of artists like Carey Chen and Guy Harvey, and was an incredible talent in his own right, known for his unique ability to enhance original art for signed and numbered giclées.
Some of my fondest memories include fishing with him—he was an accomplished angler—and celebrating his birthday at Blackpoint Marina with Ron Derrick and the Cutler Stew band. I will also cherish the simple times hanging out by his pool, laughing and soaking in his wisdom. He consistently talked about how proud he was of his son Michael Stasko all the time. Michael, is already changing/improving lives on a physical and spiritual level. 🙌🙏🙌
Mike defied his medical diagnosis for many, many years with his "Pirate Brew," a combination of herbs and spices and other alternative medicines he blended together to fight cancer. He lived a wonderful life five times longer than doctors projected, never losing his dignity or his will to fight. He was a funny, humble, badass individual who should inspire us all to live as he did. 🙌💪☠️✨️
Until we see you again in paradise, rest in peace, Pirate.
