Maria Cristina Mendoza's Obituary
Maria Cristina Mendoza returned home to God on April 19, 2024 at the age of 64,
surrounded by family in Miami, Florida.
Maria prided herself on being a helper and a do-er. If one ever wanted/needed
something done everyone knew Maria would unselfishly put her heart and soul to help
take care of it. Her strong, unrelenting will was felt by many. She was everyone’s
biggest cheerleader; Maria always had your back. She spent many years having
volunteer active roles in various churches, providing gifts and support to whomever she
encountered that was in need, always ensuring that people never felt alone, she was
truly a loving wife, mother, sister, and daughter.
Even with Maria’s unrelenting desire to help those in need, her true passion remained in
spending quality time with her family. Maria and Eugenio (her husband) were blessed to
spend nearly 40 years of their life together, travelling to a vast number of countries (Italy
being a personal favorite) and enjoying many family meals centered around her
delicious cooking (no one will ever forget her creations, from her rice, to turkey
meatballs, to her carrot cakes). Maria would most certainly “have to say” that seeing
people gathered and enjoy themselves surrounded by those she loved was truly her
calling and biggest joy.
Maria is survived by her loving husband Eugenio, son and daughter Eugenio Jr. and
Ana, mother Manuela, sister and brother Maricarmen and Jesus, numerous nieces and
nephews, and numerous sister and brother in-laws. She will always be remembered as
the gatherer of the family, ensuring that the foundation of the family unit remained
strong. Maria will be greatly missed by all.
A visitation will be held from 10am-4pm on Sunday, April 28 th at Van Orsdel Coral
Gables located at 4600 SW 8 th Street, Coral Gables, Florida. In lieu of flowers,

She lives on in our hearts, and through the joy she sparked in our souls every day. Let
us continue to remember her by continuing her compassion, courage, inspiration, love,
and dedication that she displayed ever day of her life. We love you and miss you
beyond belief, Eugenio, Nene, and Lovie – Forever your loving family
