She has gone home to be with her Savior! We pray for the family that God's peace will be real during this difficult time. Lya became a true life friend when she entered our lives in 1962. We had just arrived from Cuba, not knowing anyone in the country. My mom and brother where befriended by this beautiful woman from Colombia. As a small child, she sometimes cared for me so and even helped to get my mother a job. My father was still in Cuba. Over the years, and to adulthood we always remained in touch and she was best friends with my mother. Lya was just an extraordinary person that genuinely cared and loved people.
Her life, friendship and legacy will be to all our children and grandchildren.
