LUIS S DIEGO's Obituary
Obituario
Obituary
With deep love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Luis Silvano Diego, who entered the presence of the Lord on June 30, 2026, at the age of 77.
Born in Santa Clara, Cuba, on December 2, 1948, Luis carried his beloved homeland in his heart throughout his life. Although circumstances took him far from the country he loved so dearly, Cuba never ceased to be a part of who he was. It lived in his stories, in his love for his nation’s history, and in his unwavering hope of one day seeing a free Cuba again.
Luis was a man of extraordinary intelligence, deep sensitivity, natural elegance, and exceptional musical talent. Trained as a musician, with percussion as his primary instrument, he also mastered the guitar and piano, wrote his own compositions, and later found one of his greatest joys in teaching. Music was the language of his soul. As a teacher, he understood that each lesson was both a privilege and a responsibility, inspiring generations of students with his patience, humility, and constant pursuit of excellence.
Above all, Luis was a husband, father, and grandfather deeply devoted to his family. He shared 55 beautiful years of marriage with his wife, Esperanza Diego, and together they built a home filled with faith and love. He was an exemplary father and an immensely proud grandfather. His greatest legacy was not only what he accomplished, but the example he left through a life lived with integrity, kindness, gratitude, and unconditional love for his family.
His life was a testament to resilience. Though he experienced abandonment and loss from a very young age, he allowed God to transform those wounds into a life defined not by pain, but by faith, generosity, and love. He will be remembered for his wisdom, his nobility, his unmatched sense of humor, and his ability to find joy in life’s simplest moments.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, his cherished daughter, Anlly Cue, and his dear grandchildren, Katherine Cue and Jack Cue, as well as family members, close friends, and numerous students whose lives were enriched by his teaching, his example, and his affection.
Although today we deeply feel the pain of his passing, we give thanks to God for the privilege of having shared life with him, and we find comfort in knowing that he now rests in His presence, where the music never ends and where he has finally found his eternal home.
May he rest in peace.
