It was a chilly day in March during spring break when I first had the pleasure of meeting Kevin T Cottingim. I remember feeling a little nervous because I wanted to make a good impression. I was in love with his sister, and he stopped by to “kick on the tires” and see if I was someone he and she could trust. Fast forward 46 years, and the car is still on the road! Kevin always looked out for his sister.
After earning his MBA, Kevin’s career took off, and he used his psychology degree to make a real difference. He crafted a psychological profile for management at a top-rated restaurant chain, which eventually helped him advance to vice president roles at other companies. Kevin’s true talent was his ability to connect with people. He loved engaging with others! Whenever we spent time together, he would always find a way to lift someone's spirits with kind words. A few times, we dined at a restaurant where he was the VP, and he would have fun joking around with the waitstaff, brightening their day.
Kevin was genuinely warm and generous. Once, when he learned we were planning a trip to Las Vegas for my nephew’s wedding, he thoughtfully suggested that Kim and I swap cars so we could enjoy the drive in a beautiful new Mercedes convertible instead of our usual Toyota Camry. That was such a kind and caring gesture.
Kevin, you will be dearly missed.
