It was a privilege to have briefly known Justice Henry whose humility and unassuming demeanor were so exemplary for one whose amazing intellect allowed him to capably serve as a jurist in the Caribbean. He has left an incredible legacy to his family and the legal community who were fortunate to have someone with his ethics and character model for them what justice should look like. He certainly lived a life that continues to resonate with those who knew him.
We miss you Uncle Ken. I'm not sure I ever met such a dignified and strong character. My Mum looked up to you greatly and will be glad to be in your company again I'm sure. Thank you for all you did for our family, all our love, Susie, Rob, Alana and Adeline xx

The receipt last week of news of the passing of Kenneth Henry St Leger Henry P, as I prefer to remember him, is an occasion for much sadness,
My deepest condolences to his grieving family members.
In order that a substantial part of the judicial light emitted by this brilliant legal mind should not be hidden under a bushel, I wish to add the following to that which is contained in his somewhat short obituary.
I came to know this outstanding son of Jamaica in the mid-1980s, when I was a young legal practitioner in Belize, my native land, and he was starting his long and distinguished service as a member of the Court of Appeal of this young independent nation. During the remainder of the decade, he served as a Justice of Appeal under two other greats of the Court, namely, Sir John Summerfield and Sir James Smith.
To no one's surprise, he assumed the presidency of the Court in the early 1990s, the first Caribbean-born jurist to do so. Among the well-known legal luminaries who served the court in the course of his presidency were Sir Denis Malone, Sir Lascelles Robotham, Professor P Telford Georges and Dr Nicholas ("Nick") Liverpool.
As President of the Court, he wrote the seminal judgment of the Court in the criminal appeal of Winswell Williams v The Queen handed down on 15 Sept 1992.
I consider myself greatly privileged to have appeared before him in court, met him socially on one occasion and eventually become his successor, first, as a Justice of Appeal and, later, as President.
I would add that I am reliably informed that he also rendered first-class judicial service in the Cayman Islands.
