JEAN STEER's Obituary
Cordette Jean Elener Steer passed away on April 10th 2017. She was born in 1946 in Little Alston, Clarendon Jamaica.
Jean began her nursing training in London, England in 1965. She was a qualified midwife and started her career delivering babies. When she moved to Florida, she started working in the UM Health System (then Cedars) as a critical care nurse. She continued her education, receiving her BS in Healthcare Administration, and retired from UM after more than 30 years of dedicated service.
Jean had an absolute commitment to family. She was a devoted wife and mothered not only her own children but many others in her life. She was a nurturing soul who loved being outside and was blessed with a green thumb that showed in her extensive gardens, fruit trees, and orchids.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, David, her children, Suzanne, Michelle and Christopher, and her grandchildren, Safiya, Soraya, Nadya and Camilla, and a large extended family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to The Myositis Association (http://www.myositis.org) would be appreciated.
