Mr. Muscanera was my band director at Miami Beach Senior High School from 1987 through 1989.

He was a very gentle person with a big heart. Always treated us with respect.

He set a good example for me as a student, and for that I'm very grateful.

He told me stories of when he was in the military band, if I'm not mistaken. His ability to play the saxophone and clarinet were incredible.

I'm glad he was my teacher as I'm sure many others share the same sentiment.

Thank you Mr. Muscanera for all you contributed to us.

A great man who was nurturing and encouraging. I marched as his captain and drum major and we went through good and rough times together. I made life long friends and some of my best memories in life was in band. I will always remember how he took extra time to teach me how to write marching shows, and would spend extra time to help with learning music for solo competitions. He inspired me to pursue music, and I am now a professional musician. I would have never gotten as far as I have without his help. I recently tried to reunite with him, as I started to really realize how much of an impact he had on my life. It is with great sadness that I hear of his passing, and send my love to his family. Mr. Muscanera, I didn't get to thank you in person, so I thank you here now for all you have done for me and for so many others. May you be playing with the best of the best in heaven now. Jake was my band director while I attended Miami Coral Park High School from 1974 - 1976. As a fellow saxophone player, he was always encouraging to me and I only have fond remembrances of him and my time there in Marching and Jazz band. We always had a lot of fun!
