Herb Dale Summers' Obituary
Herb D Summers
Herbie was born Sept 1, 1948 and passed July 14, 2024.
He was born in Youngstown, Ohio and lived in Miami Florida for 59 years. Herbie graduated from the University of Miami with a Masters of Fine Arts.
He is survived by wife Toni (Annette), brother Mark and wife Stella, Sister Kathy, Sister Geri and wife Judy, and many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Herb was a devoted teacher of middle and high school art students in the Miami Magnet program for his entire career. In his retirement, he continued to pursue his passion for art.
Herbie was a man of great faith remembered for his joy of sharing his love of the gospel in both word and deed. Over the years, Herbie was encouraged by people who shared the profound effect he had on their lives.
Everyone knew he was an avid UM fan and wore the Orange and Green proudly. He loved spending time with his family – sharing new foods and experiences, as well as, delighting in a prank or two.
Herbie and Toni were married close to 40 years and she was the light of his life. Their journey together was a testament to the strength, commitment and deep connection they shared.
Herbie will be mostly remembered for his compassion and love for all those he touched and for the way he shared God’s love.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
