Sam Shea
My name is Sam Shea in 1962 i sustained a serious injury to my right kidney area. I was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital. At that time my father Dr Peter C Shea was an intern there. My mother was also there having a baby my little sister. The extent if my injury was a deep laceration to my right kidney area ,I fell on a glass jar and it went in my side about 6 or 7 inches. Apparently my father reached out to Dr Davis who I belive was out of town. Any way the doctor came to the hospital and operated on me .removing glass and stitching me up. As far as I know saved my life. I never got a chance to thank him. Until about 36 years later!!! I am an electrician and was doing working in a house in Coral Gables running power for a new AC unit in the hallway. Across the way was an home office with the door open I saw a painting on an easel behind it was a large desk and on the desk was a plackerd with Dr Henry Clinton Davis on it . My dad told me his name a few months earlier. I then went in to a small shed outside to check some electrical items and up on a shelf I saw a box labeled Jackson Memorial Hospital. When I came back the next day ti finish my work , the doctor was in his office . I interduced my self to him and told him my story. He did remember my dad and me I thanked him and showed him my scar. He was my hero and now I will miss him . God bless all
.
