I have many fond memories of Dad, but the most notable ones are those of us camping in the Florida Keys, Everglades National Park and staying in cabins on the Current River in Missouri's gorgeous Ozarks National Scenic River Ways in the Mark Twain National Forest. It is these experiences that influenced my interests and dreams to pursue a career in park and natural resource management. In the past few years Dad shared with me his heartbreak about the tragic loss of nearly half the young men in his Kirkwood, Missouri, High School graduating class on the battlefields of Europe and South Pacific during World War II. But I am very happy he shared this with me, and I feel like I know these people he missed so much. Henry was an excellent father to me, and if I can be a fraction of the father to my daughter Ashley, and as good a husband to my wonderful wife LeAnn - then I will have done a darn good job. Thank you Lord for hooking me up with an awesome Dad!
