HANNELORE S HILL's Obituary
It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of Hannelore Hill, 97. A loving and devoted partner of Kenneth Little, and friend to all whose lives she touched. Hannelore was a faithful servant of God, and she entered the kingdom of heaven to meet Christ on Tuesday September 20, 2022.
Hannelore was born in Germany and immigrated to the United States with her parents as a young child. Coral Gables, Florida became her home. Her professional career spanned many decades at Burdine’s Department Store where she served as Fashion Director. Hannelore’s journey in the world of fashion was one of pure and sincere passion. She influenced the community, and Burdine’s customers, through her innovative fashion show productions and extravaganzas throughout Florida. Hannelore’s greatest legacy, however, was her influence over countless individuals with whom she worked. She never wavered from who she was; always knowing right from wrong. She taught us all to do our very best.
At home, Hannelore loved entertaining and creating delicious meals for her many friends. She was fun-loving and a great storyteller. She was a talented and creative artist, loved doll making, a skilled collector and a lover of history.
Hannelore served as the regional director of the South Florida chapter of Fashion Group, a global non-profit organization created to promote educational programs and continuing education for all fashion related businesses. She donated her time and talents toward the mission of furthering women throughout the fashion industry.
Hannelore donated her extensive collection of Fashion and Art books to the Florida International University Library in support of their comprehensive collections. The teaching, learning and research needs of the FIU community are greatly enhanced by her contribution.
After retirement from Burdine’s, Hannelore served as a docent at the Lowe Art Museum where she led group tours for museum visitors.
In memory of Hannelore and in lieu of flowers donations may be made on-line to the Lowe Art Museum.
Hannelore will be missed and forever in our hearts. A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, 3260 SW 8 Street, Mausoleum Building 3, located at the back of the cemetery.
