I first met Smokey when I moved in next door in 1992. Though I still own the house we moved 4 years later but we always stayed in touch. In any given week I'd receive a dozen or so e-mails from him. Mostly forwarded issues that embraced our mutual interests. Military service, political views, great photography, Corvettes, and aviation was always of interest to us both. It pains me to think that we didn't share much of a personal nature, perhaps I could have foreseen the pain he was experiencing. A quality guy, a patriot, a true American, they don't make them like him anymore. Smokey you'll be missed.
