I never had the opportunity to meet Betty in person, but speaking with her on the phone was just as good. She was an amazing woman who helped change lives. People always ask someone, "What would you like to accomplish in life?" So many people answer that they would like to change something about the world. Betty didn't just talk - she acted! She's an inspiration to many and I'm proud to say that I worked with Youth Crime Watch of America and saw some of the changes she envisioned at work first-hand. She will be greatly missed! And if any youth need to look up to someone as a mentor, I can think of no one better than for them to look at Betty's life and realize that "one person can."
Dear Good Family..
Having stood side by side with Betty Ann over the years and in the development of our programs (actually she stood out front and me behind always covering her back), I came to know her as a lady of conviction and dedication to making our world a better place for all but in particular the youth to wit the development of our youth-led concept and mission...She was a lady of vision far before her time and a community activist that helped to shape our community and subsequently other communities both domestically and abroad. She was truly a teacher who taught me the meaning of community and family. She has left us a legacy that few will every achieve in the saving and touching the lives of thousands upon thousands of youth Worldwide. Ignitus Worldwide, formerly Youth Crime Watch of America...jr
Dear Good Family, I have never known anyone quite like Betty Ann, or as we all fondly called her BAG. She was the most optimistic, determined and positive person I knew. In spite of great odds in many areas, she just put her head down and moved forward and guess what, she made miracles happen! I am honored to have known her and had her in my life! God Bless BAG and the Good family, and how blessed we all were for her life. Linda Dunn Brown
