ADRIA O. SALOW's Obituary
SALOW, Adria Ofelia., 90, born on April 2, 1927, in Havana, Cuba, went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2017. She was the daughter of Adriana Mendive Paradela and Cesareo Gutierrez Alvarez of Havana, Cuba. She was married to the love of her life, Arturo H. Salow (predeceased), for 61 years. and is survived by their eight children: Virginia (Eugene) Rivera, Adria H. (Marlon) Labi, Patricia Salow, Elizabeth (Edmundo, predeceased.) Quintana, Arturo O. (Katie) Salow, Theresa (Rick) Giles, Alexander M. (Elaine) Salow, and Cecilia (Carlo Serrano) Salow; 26 grandchildren: Cristina, Victor, Ana, Eric, Grace, Justin, Carolina, Aileen, Daniel, Michael, Julio, Robert, Amanda, Sara, Arturo D., Nicholas, Catherine, Elizabeth A., Jessica, Melissa, Allison, Alexander J., Andrew, Anthony, Mia, and Olivia; eleven great-grandchildren: Veronica, Ariana, Giovanni, Drew, Amelia, Julian, Xavier, Vienna, Eva, Raena, and Annabelle; other family, and many friends. A graduate of the Colegio de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes , Havana, Cuba, she studied Fine Arts and Letters at the Universidad de La Habana , Cuba. She was an active member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Miami Shores, Florida, and served as a volunteer for St. Rose of Lima Catholic School of Miami Shores, Archbishop Curley-Notre Dame Academy of Miami, the American Red Cross, the Colegio de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes Alumnae Association ; and other organizations. She was an accomplished pianist and seamstress, and especially enjoyed fashion and interior design. She shared her wisdom and life experiences with many, always finding ways to support and encourage others. She is remembered for her perseverance, joie de vivre , loving kindness, and for her unwavering faith in God. Her friendly, caring, nurturing spirit touched the lives of everyone she met and she was always eager to talk about her greatest pride and joy: her family, who miss her dearly and will love her forever. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Van Orsdel Funeral Home, 11220 North Kendall Drive, from 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 415 N.E. 105 Street, Miami Shores, at 10:00 a.m. Following the Mass, there will be a Graveside Committal Service at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 1400 South State Road 7, NORTH Lauderdale, Florida, 33068.
