William C. Sieffert's Obituary
Sieffert, William (Bill) C, 91, passed away peacefully February 4, 2011, of natural causes.
Born July 25, 1919 in Evansville Indiana. Enlisted in U.S. Coast Guard in 1942. On August 6, 1943 he married Kathryn Bruce. Served during WW II as a Chief Electrician’s Mate serving on the USS Haverson (DE316); honorable discharge in December 1945. Worked as a journeyman electrician for Ferguson & Roberts from 1940 – 1966. In 1966, was appointed Director of Miami Joint Electrical Apprenticeship Training Committee. He guided careers of electricians in Dade, Broward & Monroe counties. Retired in 1982. Member of IBEW Local 349 since 1940.
His avid love of both golf and bowling led to becoming an accomplished amateur in both.
Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Kathryn. Bill is survived by his sister, Joyce Harris of Franklin, North Carolina; children, Kathy Slimak (Alan), Bruce Sieffert, and Lisa Sieffert (Delicia), nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be February8th from 6-9pm, with a service at 7pm at the funeral home. Burial at Woodlawn Park North on Feb 9th at 11 am. Donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave. 7th Floor New York, NY 10001.
