I had many uncles. Bill along with Stanley were the two I was closest to. What is strange is that Bill lived the furthest away of any of them. He was in Florida and I was in Nova Scotia. We didn't get together that often but when we did we had fun times. Bill always had a smile for you regardless of how he was feeling. I remember my dad going to Miami with Dewey to "OK' Anita. That marriage led to the building of a wonderful family. He was tough, he was kind, adventurous from an early age and a true family man. His legacy is his family.

We knew William as our front neighbor for the last five years. He was the friendliest person that we had ever met and it was wonderful to see him every now and then. You could tell he was a proud father and husband, just the way he carried himself. I expressed to his son how proud the family must feel that he leaves such a wonderful family behind. One day when I pass, I hope to leave this earth with incredible people that I helped raise, nurture and support….and William did just that. Rest in peace, you’ve earned it.

My condolences to the Nickerson family for the lost. Even when they are gone we can still back and and clearly see the trail they left behind- a trail with hope that invite us to follow. Bill always will be remembered and will be in our hearts, he was amazing person and loving and caring , he will be missed, RIP in heaven.
