WILLIAM WADIH FAKHOURY's Obituary
William W. Fakhoury, 69, of Coral Gables, passed away February 15, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in Sidon, Lebanon and is predeceased by his beloved parents Wadih and Therese. William was very devoted to his wife, Olga and daughter, Emily, who survive him. He is also survived by Brother Kameel and Sister-in-Law Rita Fakhoury, and Nieces Tamara, Bianca, and Talia Fakhoury; Sister Marlene and Brother-in-Law Elias Trad, Nephew Patrick Trad and Niece Tiffany Dammous; Brother Dr. Nicolas and Sister-in-Law Denise Fakhoury, and Nephews Nicolas and Daniel Fakhoury, as well as three grand nephews and a grand niece.
William graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Economics. He then received an MBA from the University of Miami. William worked diligently for Assurant as an IT Director for over two decades where he made many lasting friendships.
William always made his family a top priority and ensured everyone was taken care of. He was a very talented person. William had many hobbies, including photography, cooking, making espresso coffee, and listening to music. He was also an exceptionally skilled table tennis player and drummer. He enjoyed long evening walks with his daughter in the beautiful canopy-filled streets of Coral Gables. At family dinners, he would fill the room with laughter and joy and was known by his many friends for his generosity and kindness.
Religious services will be held by Dr. Rev. Gabriel Ghanoum on Monday, February 24th, 2025 at 1pm at Van Orsdel Funeral Home, 4600 SW 8th St, Coral Gables, FL 33134. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Amyloidosis Foundation or Amyloidosis Research Consortium.
