William E. Dellow, Jr., age 66, of Cutler Bay, Florida, passed away Friday, September 01, 2017 after a long illness.
William was born in Aurora, Illinois, to William and Winabelle Dellow, but spent most of his life here in Miami-Dade County, since the age of four. He graduated from Miami Killian High School and went on to college at Florida International University, graduating in 1974 with a degree in Political Science. He continued his education at University of Miami Law School to achieve a Juris Doctorate in 1983.
During the time he was furthering his education, he worked for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Miami-Dade County in numerous roles, beginning with the Office of the State Courts Administrator in Tallahassee, Florida in 1974 and transferring to the Administrative Office of the Courts in Miami-Dade County in 1976. William was later appointed a General Master and Magistrate in the Family Division, retiring in 2010. In all, he gave over thirty-five years of valuable service to the citizens of Miami-Dade County.
William is survived by his beloved wife, Anne, to whom he was married for forty-three years. He is also survived by his mother, Winabelle, sisters, Susan and Christine, and brother Nicolas, as well as many treasured extended family members.
To honor William and celebrate a life well-lived, a viewing will be held at Van Orsdel Family Funeral Chapel, 11220 North Kendall Drive, Miami, Florida, 33176, Phone: 305-279-6644, on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Memorial service will follow on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 11295 SW 57 Avenue, Miami, Florida, 33156, Phone: 305-665-5063.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations be given to the American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org.
