WILLIAM JOSEPH BROWN's Obituary
William Joseph Brown (Bill), born 74 years ago passed away peacefully Thursday night. Bill was born in Westborough, MA, the son of T. Leo Brown and Jane Brown (Cawein), and was the president of his high school class of 1958. A wonderful and generous man, he will best be remembered as a loving father of his daughter Claire, her husband Marco Spinar and their children Noah and Dylan.
An Attorney who practiced law in Miami for 47 years, he loved his colleagues and took great pleasure in mentoring younger Attorneys as they entered the profession. In addition to being a mentor to young lawyers, the highlight of his career was successfully arguing before the Florida Supreme Court in 1996.
He was an active runner who took great pride in qualifying for, and finishing the Boston Marathon.
He also received fame in the 1980s when he was featured on CBS’ 60 Minutes for his role in a large Miami-based FBI sting operation.
He is also survived by his brother Tom (wife Emily), his sister Janis Spinney (husband Jim and their children Jane, Jean and Jim), and stepfather Howard Cawein.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, March 20th at Plymouth Congregational Church. 3400 Devon Road. Miami, FL 33133. A reception will follow at his home.
