Wilfred A. McKeever (Papa), 99, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 24, 2025. Born on May 2, 1926, in Isle of Pines, Cuba, Wilfred lived a rich and fulfilling life devoted to his family and passions.
Wilfred was blessed with 70 wonderful years of marriage to his beloved wife, Bertha McKeever. Together, they built a legacy of love that spans generations.
He is survived by his daughter, Miriam Llarena; son-in-law, Victor Llarena; grandchildren , Julian Bonilla (Amelia Bonilla) and Steven Llarena (Danielle Burke Llarena); and great-grandchildren, Bradley Bonilla, Emily Bonilla, Brianna Llarena, and Jordan Llarena, as well as his nephew/like-son Tony Garcia.
A gentle and soft-spoken man with a lovely heart, Wilfred was known for his compassion and passion for life. Above all else, he cherished his family and always put them first. He was an avid fisherman who found peace and joy in the outdoors, spending countless hours by the water pursuing his favorite pastime.
Wilfred’s creative spirit shone through his love of woodworking. He delighted in designing and crafting innovative creations for his grandchildren, including skateboarding ramps and reptile habitats that brought endless joy and adventure to their lives. His skilled hands and thoughtful heart created lasting memories and treasures that will be cherished for generations.
Wilfred’s legacy lives on through the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the family who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
