Wilfred C. "Dink" Mc Cleod's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wilfred Charles McCleod, AKA Dink Ramsey. Dink peacefully passed on January 7, 2022 at the age of 78. He was born in Miami, FL, raise in Coconut Grove and graduated from George Washington Carver High School class of 1961, where he was involved in the chorus and on the state championship football team.
Dink served in the Air Force, and upon his return from Vietnam in 1970 settled back in Coconut Grove and returned to his musical roots. There he and his band played throughout the south Florida region including Monty’s in the Grove, where Dink played for over 40 years.
Dink is survived by his wife, Jeanine, his children Wilfred McCloud, Jr., Jason McCleod, Sr., Angelina Brown, Gina McCleod, and Pam McCloud; his grandchildren Wilfred McCloud III, Kevin McCloud, Elaina McCloud, Jason McCleod, Jr., Micah Butler, Philicia Sydney, Rianna Brown, and Nathaniel Brown; his great-grandchildren K.J. McCloud and Kelly McCloud; and his brother Daniel McCleod. Dink is predeceased by two children Steven McCloud and Matthew McCloud, his grandparents, parents Richard Daniel McCleod and Hazel Ramsey, his brother Roger McCloud, and sisters Minerva Duncan and Cindy Farrington.
