Vitaly C. Vayslep's Obituary
VAYSLEP, VITALY C., 88, of Key Biscayne, Florida. It is with profound sorrow that we announce his passing. He was a devoted husband to Irene Vayslep, proud father to daughter Lana and son Alex. His grandchildren Elizabeth, Christine, and Jimmy brought great joy to his retirement years, and just six weeks ago he was blessed with the arrival of his great- granddaughter Sarah. He loved his son-in-law Jim, his daughter-in-law Donna, and his grandson-in-law Pete. Vitaly was born in Varna, Bulgaria in 1920 and moved to Istanbul, Turkey at a young age. He was a gifted student at the Obereale German School and then studied engineering at Robert College in Istanbul. He married Irene Stadnitsky in 1948 and they were together for over 60 years. The Vaysleps moved to Dallas, Texas in 1960 to pursue a career in the cotton industry. By the time he retired in the late 1980's he was considered one of the foremost cotton experts in the world. Irene and Vitaly spent considerable time in Greece in the 1990's and moved to Florida in 2000 to be closer to their family. Vitaly spoke 8 languages fluently. He was an accomplished musician, playing the piano and guitar, and he was an avid philatelist. His wonderful personality and sense of humor made him a true delight to all who came in contact with him. Vitaly passed away peacefully at his home in the early morning of March 8, 2009 surrounded by his family.
