Virginia H. Malcom's Obituary
MALCOM, Virginia Hollis, 95, of Alpharetta, GA and formerly of Miami, FL, passed away on February 6, 2013. She was born on August 24, 1917 in Rutledge, GA to Edwy Post Hollis and Amma Lou Pennington. The last of 9 siblings. Predeceased by 5 sisters and 3 brothers, son Walter H. Bailey and daughter Shirley M. Pearson. Survived by 2 daughters, Susan M. Kephart (late Jerome P.) of Duluth, GA., and Louan M. Gordon (Dr. Robert) of Miami, FL. 6 grandchildren : Walter Jr. and Jeff Bailey, Amanda G. Credendino (Keith), Kelly K. Browder (Shane), Brett and Jeffrey Gordon, 13 great-grandchildren , and numerous nieces and nephews. She retired from Baxter International in 1990 after 30 years of service. She never met a soul who didn’t love her and never had an unkind work for anyone. Special thanks to the caring staff and caregivers at Ivy Hall Assisted Living, Alpharetta, GA and special thanks to the compassionate caregivers at Peachtree Christian Hospice, Duluth, GA. A funeral service was held on February 9, 2013 at Bill Head Funeral Home, Duluth, GA. Private interment will be at Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, 6200 S.W. 77Avenue, Miami, FL. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.
