LYNCH
Virgil Powers, 75, died Feb. 4, 2016. Born Nov. 24, 1940 in Louisville, KY. Moved to Miami at the age of 9 and attended local schools and the U of M. He was active with his father in the insurance business for years, (plus other odd jobs prior to retirement). His loves in life: The outdoors/nature, traveling, boating, fishing, camping, landscaping his yard and building rock walls around the property and his two dogs Jack Too and Benji a/k/a Duke. Avid reader of books and loved cross word puzzles. He will be deeply missed by his partner in life and soul mate, Maxine C. Papy; sister-in-law Frances P. Westmoreland; sisters Suzanne Davis (Rick), Lisa Carman (Kenny), Donna Spalding; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation 12 noon until Service time 1 pm Wednesday at VAN ORSDEL CORAL GABLES CHAPEL. Burial Woodlawn Park North.
