VICTOR TUTAN's Obituary
TUTAN, VICTOR 86, of Coral Gables died March 3, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family. Vic was born and raised in Miami. His parents were Alice and Charles B. Tutan, Sr. and he was married to his wife Joan for 58 years. After attending Miami High, he received his bachelors and law degree from The University of Miami. He then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked at Tutan Motors, the family car dealership. Vic practiced law for 35 years at the law firm of Wicker Smith where he was president and managing partner. He was a member of the Florida Bar Association since 1953 and president of both The University Club and Florida Lawyer's Assistance. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha, involved in Kiwanis of Miami and The Sahara Club. Vic and Joan were members of Riviera Country Club, Coral Reef Yacht Club, Lake Toxaway Country Club in North Carolina and Glenmore Country Club in Charlottesville, Virginia. He was an avid fisherman and a high handicap golfer. His family and friends will miss his keen sense of humor and melodic singing. Vic is survived by his wife Joan Tutan, his brother Charles B. Jr. (Mildred), his children Lynn Tutan, Jeff Tutan (Cindy) and Jill Cataldo (Luis), and his grandchildren, Courtney Engelke, Whitney Engelke, Alex Hetu, Samantha Cataldo, and Jake Tutan, as well as his caretaker, Marie Dorelus. The family will hold a celebration of Vic's life at Coral Reef Yacht Club on Friday, March 6th at 2:00PM.
