VERA JOSEFINA PERCODANI's Obituary
Giuseppa Elvira Catalano was born November 19th, 1924 in New York, New York to Italian immigrants, Antonio Catalano and Maria Butindaro.
Vera’s soul went to heaven on June 5th, 2024 while living in Miami, Florida.
Having grown up as “Josie” she enjoyed her childhood with her siblings Rosie, Sarah, Jenny, Margie, Jackie and is survived by her younger sister Stella, who resides in New Jersey.
Josie married the love of her life Anthony Percodani. Together, they settled in Cliffwood Beach, NJ raising their family.
Ninety-nine years, was a tremendous lifetime. She saw everything from the construction of the Empire State Building, and the first man in space, to email and smart phones. Vera smiled easily and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was fabulous at cooking eggplant, pasta fagioli, and spaghetti with meatballs and her chruscikis were quite the hit during the holiday season. Her genuine happiness was evident by the ever-present twinkle in her eye and her enjoyment of living life to the fullest.
Vera was preceded in death by her husband Tony, her son Anthony and her daughter Margaret, lovingly known as “Cookie”.
Vera is survived by her son Robert Percodani, his wife Amy, and nine grandchildren. Anthony Percodani, Michael Percodani, Michael Scarano, Joel Scarano, Nicole Boothe, Bobby Percodani, Ali Percodani and Ashley Garcia.
Viewing will take place from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM on Monday, June 10th at Van Orsdel, 4600 SW 8th Street in Coral Gables. Funeral services will be held at St. Catherine of Sienna, 1955 S. Belcher Road in Clearwater, FL at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 12th interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
