Tony A. Sabbag's Obituary
SABBAG, Antoon (Tony), born in Boston Mass., on Aug. 20, 1935, died on Feb. 10, 2009 with his loving wife and children by his side. He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 44 years, Vivien Theresa Sabbag; daughter Renee (Steven) Pera; son Tony Sabbag; grandchildren Stephen Sabbag, Ryan Sabbag and Steven Pera.
Tony served his country honorably in the US Army, was a founding and faithful member of St. Jude Melkite Catholic Church, and served as Knight-Marshall of the Patriarchal Order of the Holy Cross of Jerusalem.
Affectionately called “Giddo” by his family, Tony had the heart of a lion because of the unconditional love he exuded on all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Friday Feb. 13 from 7:00-9:00pm at St. Jude Melkite Catholic Church 126 S.E. 15 Rd with prayer service at 8:30pm. Funeral services will be at St. Judes’ on Saturday Feb. 14, at 9:30am with burial following at Woodlawn Park North. In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be made in his name to St. Jude Melkite Catholic Church.
