Timothy Patrick Ryan's Obituary
Timothy P. Ryan, Born 6/20/1948 in Oakland, CA, After a 9 year battle with prostate cancer died peacefully on Sunday 9/26/2021 at the Vitas Hospice In-Patient Facility (Rockledge, FL) surrounded by family. Tim was a graduate of Pleasant Hill High School (1962-1966), UC Davis (1966-1968), UC Berkely (1968-1970) Graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. In 1976, completed his Master’s degree from California State University, Hayward with a degree in Public Administration. Tim worked for the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department from 1970-1998, he retired with rank of Commander, he worked at Santa Clara County Department of Corrections from 1998-2002, he retired as Chief of Corrections, he worked at Orange County Department of Corrections from 2002-2006, he retired as Director of Corrections, he worked at Miami/ Dade County Department of Corrections from 2006-2014, he retired as Director of Corrections.
Tim is survived by his wife of 50 years and 9 months, Susan (Sue) Kay Ryan, married on December 27, 1970, at Hillcrest Church in Pleasant Hill, California. Tim’s eldest son Richard Andrew Ryan, 47, married to his wife Jennifer, and younger son Scott Thomas Ryan, 46, married to his wife Kristin, both sons live with their families in California. Tim’s grandchildren, Jewels Jaeden Ryan, 16, Tatum Victoria Ryan, 12, Colin Donovan Ryan, 10. Tim’s Brother-in-Law, Richard T. Batten, newest resident of Florida 8/2021.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 11am in the Fire Tower, 8000 N.W. 21 Street, Miami 33122 The service will observe social distancing and masks are required.
