Thorne Locke Fulmore Beckham, of Coral Gables, Florida, died on July 18, 2017 at Doctor’s Hospital after courageously battling an unexpected illness. She was 67. Thorne is survived by mother Ramona Fulmore, sister Jackie Howell, husband James Beckham, daughter and daughter in-law Blake Beckham and Malina Rodriguez, son and daughter-in-law Justin and Melissa Beckham, and grandchildren Alexandra, Juliette, and Justin Beckham Jr.
Thorne was a devoted wife to her life-long sweetheart Jimmy, who she met at Ponce de Leon Junior High School and married on the winter solstice of 1970. All knew her as a loving mother and doting grandmother. Thorne was deeply loyal to her family, and stubbornly protective of her loved ones, constantly putting others’ needs before her own. She was a steadfast friend to many, including a circle of sisters with whom she practiced needlepoint every week for over 30 years. Mrs. Beckham enjoyed social and community engagements through Beaux Arts, Junior League of Miami, and PEO Chapter AK. She was a member of Colonial Dames of America.
