Thomasine "Tommie" Morris' Obituary
Thomasine Morris, called Tommie by her friends, was born December 4th, 1938 and was a longtime resident of Coconut Grove.
Tommie graduated from Coral Gables High, University of Miami in BED, obtained her Masters of Science from Barry University, and a Masters in Inner City Education from Florida International University.
She taught for 30 years for Dade County Public Schools; her favorite experiences were teaching at Whispering Pines Elementary, Frances S. Tucker Elementary in Coconut Grove, and writing Fascinating Five's Manual for Dade County Public Schools.
Tommie was active at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Alpha Chi Omega, Beta Sigma Phi, Guild of M. of Science, and Alpha Delta Kappa.
She loved to travel and spent 2 wonderful years teaching for DODs in Germany.
When she retired, Tommie enjoyed volunteering and doing estate sales.
Services will be held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church on Saturday, January 22nd, 2022 at 11AM, followed by a burial at Graceland Park North.
