I happened on an article this morning about Lake Lure and thought about Russ. I googled and sadly saw that he just passed away.
I have so many wonderful memories of my fun times with him. It just brings a smile to my face to think of some of them where we laughed so hard.
We met teaching at the Vanguard school, followed each other on our Colorado adventures, and kept in touch for many years.
His obituary was so lovely and so described the sweet and wonderful man that I was lucky to know. I know he will be dearly missed.

Mr. Sherrill once told me "Pray, Hope, and Don't Worry". He was one of my favorite clients. My relationship with Mr. Sherrill was professional although we shared personal thoughts and he was so very kind to me. I will never forget his kindness and the great advice he has given me. His wise words are stuck in my mind. He was a great man and mentor. He will be missed.
