Thomas Scott Reed's Obituary
Thomas Scott Reed, age 69, of Miami, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
He was a devoted father to his daughter, Theresa E. Hansen (Corey Hansen), and his son, Michael S. Reed, a loving partner of over 20 years to Robin Kaplan, and a cherished brother to Donna Reed Vera of Canterbury, Connecticut. Tom also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Connor and Norah, and several nieces and nephews.
Born on September 23, 1955, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, Tom was the son of Thomas Eli and Shirlee Eleanor (Harris) Reed. Tom completed an apprenticeship at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and became a Jet Engine Metalsmith in 1979. In 1983 he graduated from Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and went on to pursue a dynamic career marked by entrepreneurial ventures and a passion for innovation.
Tom was known for his generous spirit in helping others, his deep sense of patriotism, and his love of home improvement projects.
Tom's legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the memories he created with family and friends.
