THOMAS CHARLES HAMILTON's Obituary
Thomas Charles Hamilton was born on April 24, 1947 and passed away peacefully May 5, 2016 in Miami, Florida. Tom was raised in North Miami where he attended and graduated from North Miami Senior High School. He then attended trade school for Carpentry and Electrical. In 1969, he married Bettye Dyer. They had two daughters Cindy and Cathy.
He worked in carpentry for various companies before gaining employment at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he worked for 38 years. Tom loved the Lord and was a member of Southern Baptist denomination. He enjoyed nature and fishing. He loved all animals - especially dogs, cats, and horses. He found great joy in playing Santa and volunteering for the Make-A-Wish foundation, the City of Miami Fire Department, and Holtz Children's Hospital. He and Bettye loved to travel together. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, daughters, son- in law, and grandson.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents Thomas and Olive Hamilton and two infant brothers. He is survived by his wife Bettye Hamilton, his daughters Cindy Hamilton, Cathy Hamilton-Lepeak, son-in-law Michael Lepeak, and grandson Samuel Lepeak. Also survived by cousins Gary and Rex Hamilton, brothers-in-law Joseph (Christine) Bateman and Roy Dyer with whom he maintained close relationships.
A viewing will be held at 5:30pm – 7pm, the service will begin at 7:00pm on Tuesday May 10, 2016 at Kendall Presbyterian Church. 8485 SW112th St. Kendall, Florida. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in his name to Holtz Children’s Hospital at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
