So sad to hear about my dear friend Gene’s beloved mother passing away.
I have known Gene since 1975 when I met him as a student at St Mary’s University in Halifax. Gene invited me to spend the Christmas break at his home in St John.
Gene’s mom and Joe made me feel like I was their own son and I had a wonderful time . I also remember Gene’s brothers, Brian and Bruce.
I settled in London (UK) after leaving Canada. I visited Toronto on two other occasions, once with my wife, Rita and two young boys and stayed with Gene and Hoda. The second time RIta and I stayed with Gene, Hoda, Eugene and Victoria.
On both these occasions, Gene’s mom was very hospitable and invited us to her home.
I have fond memories of a wonderful, kind lady who was full of life and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
May her soul rest in peace.

I was saddened to read this obituary this morning. Theresa was very kind to me. She put my family in touch with Dr. Corneliaus who helped correct my cleft palate when I was about 8 or 9 years old. Her helping hand was a blessing. She will be another angel in heaven. I will certainly have a mass in her name at the Cathedral when covid-19 is over.
