Theresa Neff Alvarez, affectionately known as Teta to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025, in Anchorage, Alaska, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born on November 1, 1940, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Theresa's zest for life and her unwavering spirit were evident from her early years.
Theresa's journey led her from her birthplace in Tennessee to Miami, Florida, where she completed her high school education before attending a local college. Her academic achievements laid the foundation for what would become a highly successful and diverse professional life. Throughout her career, Theresa was known for her exceptional leadership skills and dedication, which she demonstrated in her role as a Chief Administrative Officer for both small and large corporations. Her proficiency in administration was matched by her entrepreneurial spirit, which shone brightly during her time as a million-dollar real estate producer while residing in Las Vegas. Theresa's professional accomplishments were a testament to her intelligence, tenacity, and the respect she garnered from her colleagues and peers.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Theresa was a woman of many interests. She had a particular affinity for the game of golf, which she enjoyed immensely during the years she lived in Florida. The sport not only provided her with relaxation and joy but also allowed her to forge lasting friendships and share memorable moments on the green. Family was the cornerstone of Theresa's world. Her love for her family was profound, and she took great pleasure in researching her family's genealogy, tracing the roots and branches of her lineage with meticulous care. This passion not only brought her personal gratification but also served as a cherished legacy for her descendants.
Theresa's memory will be lovingly cherished by her family, including her sons, Joseph Alvarez of California and Michael Alvarez of Florida, and her daughter, Michelle Curtiss of Alaska.
Though preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Aurelio Alvarez, the love and life they shared together will continue to inspire and comfort her family. Theresa's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of love, perseverance, and achievement. While her presence will be deeply missed, the memories of her warmth, wisdom, and the strength of character will remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

Funeral service will be held on February 1st at Van Orsdel Funeral and Cremation Service, 11220 N Kendall Drive, Miami, Florida 33176 followed by a graveside service held at Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, 6200 SW 77th Avenue, Miami, Florida 33143.
