In 2003, 19 years and a half ago, I met the most loving, caring, compassionate, and humble human being, Terry. I used to live in Chattanooga, TN. When I met Terry, he lived in Atlanta, GA. I used to drive about 2 hours south to see him, and he would go 2 hours north the following week to see me. That happened for the next couple of months until he asked if I wanted to be his partner, to which I replied, yes! I remember playing a special song for us (in the arms of an angel), and I told him, " Yes, you know what that means, right? And he said all I know is that you are the right person for me. I said we'll always be together forever, no matter what. He smiled back at me and said I love you, and I told him together forever, no matter what. Since then, we have lived in our little world full of love, kindness, and fun. He was my best friend; I could tell him anything, and he would never judge me but love me instead. Terry had the most beautiful heart and would always do anything to make me happy. He always lived life to the fullest. His favorite hobby was sitting at the beach under the umbrella. He liked staring at the sky, the ocean, and the birds while listening to his favorite trance music. He was always amazed at nature and how beautiful it was.
He loved his family so much, especially his sister Marlene who had passed many years ago and had left Terry a wound that never healed; he always missed his beloved sister Marlene. Terry enjoyed the company of her sister Michelle so much as they spent many hours on the beach when Michelle visited us; they used to reminisce about their lives when they were younger. They also went to ballgames together here in Miami as well as Atlanta.
My heart is wrenching today, but I am praying to God to give me the strength I need to overcome this pain. I know it is hard and is part of the process I know.
Terry, I am here to say you are still my baby boy, my soulmate. I want to say that I kept my promise and loved you no matter what, and we will always be together forever.
Rest in the heavens, my darling; we will meet again.
