Teresa R. Fernandez's Obituary
Teresa Riascos Fernandez gained her angel wings on January 04, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones. Her battle with her health over the years clearly depicted the courage, strength, resiliency and bravery she used to face and fight all life challenges. Despite the pain she faced, she remained the strongest woman we have ever or will ever know.
Even with what many considered a poor quality of life, Teresa never lost hope and she always stood strong and fought. She was definitely one of a kind. Our Teresita de Jesus was kind, loving, and definitely not afraid to stand up to anyone who hurt her or her family. In her early years she enjoyed fishing, making costumes, clothes and crafts from scratch, and picking up and visiting all her grandchildren. She loved getting together with all her loved ones and would make macaronis, sopa, empanadas and her famous arroz con leche just to get everyone together. She spent a lot of time completing word search books and watching novelas and wrestling. Most of the time you could find her enjoying playing Parcheesi with her son, playing video games, building puzzles with her sisters and FaceTiming her great grandchildren, but above all that was her family! Our hearts are broken. We will miss her forever, but we know our angel is now watching over all of us.
She leaves behind her daughters Maria and Fatima and her sons Omar and Abdel as well as her 12 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Today we honor the life of Teresa. She was a truly amazing woman who was the kindest and most loving person in the world. She dedicated her life to family, and making sure we were supported in whatever we did and that we never felt anything other than loved.
Teresa will forever be remembered for being a strong woman of powerful faith who will truly be missed and forever be in our hearts. Her spirit will always be alive and with us, not one day will she be forgotten. Although words do not do justice to how much we will miss her and it will take time to work through the reality that we no longer have her here, we’re comforted by the fact that she is in heaven. She will continue to watch over, guide and protect us all, until we meet again.
